Bad actuator?

Recommended Posts

Over the summer my a.c. wouldn't stay in recirculate and now that it's fall It won't go on all when I have the defrost went on. If i have the heat on at 75° it will get toasty then it automatically cools off then will heat up after about 5 minutes. What do you guys think?

One of your actuators is going bad.  With a scan tool you can tell which specific one is malfunctioning and how by the code it throws.

Confirm the compressor is working and the refrigerant pipe going into the fire wall is cold.

The defrost might temp sensitive using warm or cold air

If auto climate control, the fan speed should drop when temp is reached.

If you can't get dtc, You'll need to run component test. Check mode door is working using same temp and fan speed. Then fan speed, then recirc, then temp. Run above in warm, run in cold (checking pipe temp).
