Exhaust question. Lollipop baffles??

So I got the k1500 going again did the engine swap and all of that so life is better lol the old owner chopped the exhaust a few feet after the cats so it's loud as all hell and so I've read is likely why I'm lacking low end torque with the loss in back pressure. Pretty much exhausted my budget so none left for exhaust I was thinking of doing old school lollipop baffles in the straight pipes to add a little back pressure on the cheap it's my daily work truck so I'm not racing it I just want more pep on the low end and maybe dampen the sound a little. Anyone done this or think it will help. I'm talking bolt with a washer style lollies

It will slow the flow of the exhaust down a little.  You can always get cheap mufflers from a scrap yard too, they would probably work better.
