Anyone seen a grill swap like this done?

I'm curious to know if anyone has seen someone take a "midnight edition" grille and swap it onto a black truck that had the standard chrome mesh. If so, I'd really like to see how it looks with the chrome headlight bezels.

I was kinda backwards because I swapped headlights first. Then the grille came later.

I'm wanting to switch the headlights and taillights with the ones like LTZs. Is it a simple swap or do you need adapters and stuff?

Also, where did you find yours? I've looked around, but haven't had any luck so far.

Simple switch, I’m doing the exact same thing now. Just picked up my Deep Ocean Blue painted headlight trim and grille pieces from Ellis and Salazar. Hardest part is removing the trim and grille pieces so you can drop them off to be painted.

My headlight trim has been painted for about 3 weeks so next week I’ll add paint protection to the headlight trim and install my LTZ headlights w/ PGamboa’s LTZ headlight harness (adds a resistor to prevent hyper flash). About another month till I can install the grille.

I personally think color matching the grille and headlight trim looks better than having one or both chrome.

And to answer your question of where, I’d start scouring EBay, Craigslist, auto part trader, and Facebook market place.

I bought a Quicksilver Metallic grille on EBay for $125 (had a little damage to the black mesh but I’m fixing it). I bought the passenger side headlight for $250 on FB marketplace. Driver side was $700 from a salvage yard. Harness was around $50.

Planning on selling my stock HID headlights for $1000-1200. Planning on selling my stock chrome grille for $300.

So I spent $1125 on the parts.
I spent $525 to get all 3 grille pieces and both my headlight trims painted Deep Ocean Blue Metallic.

$1650 spent total. Planning on $1500 for my parts.

All in all, should be around $150 out of my pocket for the best scenario. I will upload a picture of the parts not installed in just a second.

I figure posting all this info will help other people decide if they want to do this upgrade or not. Hope this info helps!

Look at the rally trucks. They have this exact config, just maybe not black.

Thanks! That is exactly what I was looking for. Wasn't even aware of the rally edition.
