need help finding some examples

i need some help finding some examples of different fallacies. from newspapers, articles or whatever. in the next couple days. been going through a stack of old papers and stuff that i have, and havent come up with anything. so if anyone runs across something and can help out that would be great.

need to be able to cite them with MLA citations.

 

Fallacy of hypostatization

Fallacy of unclear statistics

Fallacy of generalization

Oppositional Fallacy

Subjectivist Fallacy

For unclear statistics, you should look up a pro-gun control article.  Most statistics given in those are either made up or have nothing to do with the argument :ehh:

You might be able to find some of the other fallacies in there, too.

Fallacy of generalization is stereotyping....racism, sexism, etc.

 

I don't know how this helps you, but optimism isn't always a good thing.....a pilot/driver thinking he won't hit anything in a thick fog.

Abortion, Racial biases, and other stuff along these lines is good fodder for hypocrisy (sp?).

 

One good one is in the Bash section about Sara Brady, Ms. gun control activist who went out and purchased a gun for her son without him having a proper background check.

 

You know, the same background checks she pushed onto all of us.

i was told that

This occurs when one makes a claim that personifies and idea, an inanimate objects or an abstract institution.

 

would have been easier if it was hypocrisy.
