Tick/ knock after warm 5.3

I'm new to hear. I have a 2005 gmc sierra. I spun a cam bearing and put an 07 engine in it with 130000 miles. All seemed good until the other day I noticed going to work it had a tick on one cylinder. Only does it after it has warmed up. I can turn it off and after it sets a minute the tick will go away like new. Any ideas?

Cam, did you have to re-flash your PCM to make the 2007 engine work?  I may be wrong but I think 2007 was the first year of the AFM 5.3's.  Not to beat on you, but I think I would have re-built your original engine rather than put a 130,000 mile AFM engine in as a replacement. It's possible the noise you're hearing is a lifter tick related to the AFM, and if so the problems will only get worse, sooner, not later. If you're not familiar with the AFM problems, there is a lot of information on this forum about them, good luck!

It was the first year but this one was a 07 classic. Still has the old style reluctor wheel and no afm. From what I could find if it still had the old crank sensor with 24 tooth reluctor  wheel it wasn't afm

And no nothing was flashed. Thanks for input. So I drove it to town and about 10 miles or so I heard the tick. Sounded like a lifter. But anyways I got to town about 15 or 16 miles. The tick had gone away. Stopped several times and went back home and still no tick
