Spark Plug Torque

Recommended Posts

Posted

Changing the plugs on my '92 Sierra. I'm looking for torque specs. on the Delco CR43TS Plug. That is what is in my truck now and I plan to use the same one unless someone can recommend something else? I've found some general info. for various plugs but nothing for the Delco. I am using anti-seize on the threads so I plan to apply lowest recommended torque. Any info. and advice is appreciated.

So, I'm assuming cast iron heads and plugs with the copper gasket? New gasket; crush the gasket and go for 15-18 ftlbs with anti seize.

Funny, as anal as I am about torque specs, I cannot remember ever using a torque wrench on plugs.

I use the German torque spec. Goodntight. j/k. Seriously though, just make sure you put never-leave, i mean anti-seize on the threads before you install the plugs. then just run them in with a ratchet & socket till they are tight. You should be able to tell if they are tight enough or not.
