HELP!! Transfer case problems

96 Tahoe 4x4 5.7 V8, I am on my third transfer case and today it made a horrible grinding noise that means it is F*ed. I am tired on this. What are my options? Can I take the T-case out of the equation? Can I do something to covert to 2wd? Thanks for any and all suggestions.

I don't know if you can convert or not. What is the cause of it going through tcases? Maybe it's a lemon and you could trade it in to the dealer.

I was thinking the same thing, a lemon maybe, or is your name indicative of the mileage on your truck? Trade it, you will see some very good deals on 03's real soon. Converting it to 2 wheel would be more trouble and money than just trading it. Good luck!

The truck has 276,xxx miles on it. The first time it went out the truck had about 100k on it the second time it had 175k on it. I think I am going to get rid of it if I can get a fair deal.
