I am glad that I found this thread. I've had my Silverado for a few weeks now and boy are these keys annoying with the noise.

 

So I had a 2016 Colorado before getting the Silverado, while it was better, it still had its issues. Even worse, I had to have my ignition switch and shifter swapped out by the dealer because my key would get stuck in the ignition.

I fixed mine by buying  2" round felt furniture pad and sticking it on steering column on my 2016 Sierra works great and cost less than $3
