diyer2
Living in the Colorado mountains at 9200 feet is definitely different. We have needed some rain badly and yesterday we had an afternoon storm with hail come through. At 5: 30 this morning it was 39 degrees here. Been down this road before so it's not unusual. I've seen snow in July up here. We have had a second home at 9200 feet for 20 years. Still have it. It's 40 miles from this house. Now that we live in our dream home after selling our city house we get to experience the weather on a daily basis. Not complaining BTW. My head was in Celsius and I thought this thread was about extreme heat!
Spurshot
I had a friend, Al Budney, that built a log cabin up around that altitude near Pikes Peak. It was quite a place, but all dirt roads to get there. I remember helping to roof the "patio" in 1984 and setting in the hot tub room with windows all around. The Rockies are a pretty place to live. Enjoy.
diyer2
A view from the boat on the lake I fish by our second home in the spring after ice off. A view from our deck and living room of our main home.
