2014 silverado z71 grill options

I like the mesh rough country grill for my 2014 but says wont fit z71. What's different between the z and everything else?

I have the factory chrome honeycomb grille ( LTZ) and wanted to swap the inserts from the black Z71 grille. 

Wouldn't work though because the Z71 grille has a thicker surround around the inserts. If you find pics of both you can see the difference although it's not a huge difference. No idea why GM found it necessary to make such a minor change but they did. 

I ended up painting my factory inserts satin black.

Did you end up purchasing the Rough Country grille? Any photos? I’ve been hard pressed to find any photos other than the stock photos on Rough Country’s website.
