Heated seat issue

I've got an '01 Silverado LT that has front heated seats. The driver heated seat only works on low will not work or illuminate the high heat option. I would like to get the high option working again as the ac blows so cold I can't stand it though the passengers love it >.<

That's kind of what I am hoping it is, as that would be cheaper than a heating element.

Typical heating elements are a single resistive wire in the seat. The switch controls how much power is fed through the seat to get low or high.

The heating pads are thin floppy fabric covered things that just sit on the cushion foam.   If your leather seats are toast you might want to consider replacing the foam and leather/vinyl fabric while testing the heating element.

I will do mine sometime next year and will be glad to post the process of it.  There are some good videos online as well.

Yea the bottom seat cushion has a decent hole worn through it from the previous owner (my dad) for the last 16 years. I am planning on replacing the leather covers and bottom seat cushion here shortly. Found a place in houston that'll sell the covers and seat cushion for $700 including tax
