Muffler install

I’m going to do a simple magnaflow muffler install. I was thinking I may just dump it after the muffler. Has anyone tried this? I don’t think the mufflers come with any hangers welded, so does it bounce around?

Also, what diameter are most using? I figured the 3” in and out would slip over the existing pipe, right? 2.5 may have issues

any other advice?

i just want it a little louder for cheap. Don’t care about a full system

Yes get the 3", if you dump it just have them tac weld another hanger on it so it don't bounce around. But as far a dumping it...go for it if you want bad drone (from what I hear). I just had my original muffler cut out, swapped it with mine and left the rest of the stock piping out the back. Sounds mean and not bad in cab at all

I’d probably prefer this to keep the stock look. I can’t weld though and fogured if I tried to do it in my driveway I’d dump it and throw away the rest of the piping. Thanks

I’m going to get a diablo tuner for afm, so do I need to clamp open the little afm flapper? I have seen some posts regarding this.

Cut the flapper out with the muffler - see link below.......
