My 2015 Silverado LTZ Z71 Released from Impound

My truck has been released from impound, and still has some good parts on it.  Front end, driver’s door, front left rim, left step rail, windshield are all toast.  The soft, Tri-fold tonnaeu cover and hardware are still on it and in good condition.  Three of the four rims and spare are all good, the three tires may be toast from the spin.

She is sitting at AV Towing, in Palmdale, CA.

From earlier post. The truck was totaled in a hit and run.

So many questions.

Was OP the actor or victim?

Last I read, OP was a victim and they did not find the instigator. I am sure a bummer, as it looked loke a nice truck.

I’ve been in/out of 2 ERs since the first of the month.  Had a blood clot form in my left calf, break off, travel through my heart (1st trip to ER, misdiagnosed and treated for heat exhaustion), and lodged in my left lung, causing my right ventricle to enlarge with backed up blood (2x normal size, 2nd trip to ER, Friday the 10th).  I was suppose to go have a Follow-Up on my broken foot, that morning.  My daughter, while I was at the ER, was able to postpone my follow-up appointment until Wednesday of this week.  Bones are fusing fine and are aligned, DR gave me 4 more weeks of not putting any weight on it.  Yesterday, I had a follow-up for my blood clots, 6 months of blood thinners, and taking it easy.  Backtracking a little......

First trip to ER:  Kids and I were clearing out the last of our personal belongings, when I started feeling lightheaded, requested to sit in CHP cruiser, and passed out as soon as I sat down.  ER treated me for heat exhaustion & dehydration, and released me.  Specialists during the next ER trip, think that’s when the clot debris from the original clot, in my calf, went through my heart.

Second trip:  My wife woke me up, cause we were oversleeping, and I was feeling just fine, until I went to stand up and go use the bathroom & start getting ready for my DR appointment.  Passed out, when I stood up, luckily I fell back onto the bed.  Came to, started calling out for my wife, who was off in one of the other bathrooms, I was hyperventilating, had severe chest pain, had prefusily sweated to the point that my clothes and bed sheets were SOAKED, and was feeling very weak.  “I’m having a heart-attack!” was going through my mind.  According to my wife, I passed out two more times, but I only remember one more time.  With each breath, after I came to, I telling my wife to call 9-1-1, one number with each breath.  Antelope Valley Hospital ER were on top of it, they saw that I had a leg/foot in a splint and hyperventilating, so they hit me with blood thinner, took x-rays of my chest, CT of my chest, and ultrasound of my upper left calf.  Then hit me with blood clot buster, halfway through what they were giving me, RELIEF!!!  They moved me up to ICU and kept me there until Sunday afternoon, released to go home.

“No Contact Hit/Run, Vehicular Manslaughter” suspect still at large, to knowledge.  The other family is still looking for answers, and so are we.  CHP has brought in some higher ups, from “regional level,” to help investigate and find the moron.

@Hate Work, my wife and I were discussing this with investigating CHP officer and some close friends, had we been in my wife’s CR-V or our daughter’s Cruze, my son and I would have most likely been killed as well.  I recall seeing daylight under all four of his tires.  He plowed my left headlight and fender into the driver’s door jam.  My truck saved our lives, because of how high up it sat.

After my follow-up on Wednesday, my wife and I went to AV Towing to see what the grief was that was making my insurance company call me every 3 business days.  CHP had released the vehicle before the kids and I went to clean it out, and I told the employee that was accompanying the CHP officer and I that insurance had already paid it off and all.  When we walked into the office, the guys were glad to see me, since last time they saw me, I was being loaded into an ambulance, in front of my kids.  BUT they only needed a verbal to allow my insurance to take my truck, wish I would have known that sooner, like the last time I was there.  Insurance is moving my truck to Victorville, CA, yesterday or today.  I’ll more than likely never see it again, as the new location is about 80 miles away.

I don’t even feel safe on the roads anymore.

I rarely ride my Harley anymore for fear of the idiots on the road.
