MILsYukon Posted September 23, 2018 Posted September 23, 2018 Guys, While changing the oil on the 2000 Yukon 5.3, i noticed that a vacuum line was disintegrating. After some cleaning up, i found 15754162 on one of the hoses, but now its discontinued. I dont actually need the whole line, just the rubber hose that goes to the intake manifold. its part 19 on this diagram: https://www.wholesalegmpartsonline.com/showAssembly.aspx?ukey_assembly=431098&ukey_product=2781381#011 Im hoping that i can just remove that part and get a suitable vacuum line at the parts store. But wanted to check with you guys first to make sure that: 1)its easy to just remove and replace the rubber hose (other lines like this have been glued/sealed) 2)its not some oddball ID or something other than regular vacuum hose 3)in case you guys know the diameter, that would save me some hassle thanks
no HD Posted September 23, 2018 Posted September 23, 2018 If the rubber part doesn't want to come off, you can cut back on the plastic line an inch or so and have a sample of the size of the plastic line to show the parts guy. He will more than likely have something you can piece together and make it work. Also sometimes you can replace the entire assembly with a rubber hose. I don't want to guess the diameter of the hose but most places are likely to have something that will work.
MILsYukon Posted September 23, 2018 Author Posted September 23, 2018 Hi guys, i yanked the rubber hose part off and it had 5/32 stamped on the side. Easy enough. New piece when back on and looks factory with the molded "hardline". thanks guys
