2011 Suburban heated pass. seat not working

Recommended Posts

I have searched and searched and have been unable to find anyone with a similar problem. 2011 Suburban heated passenger seat times out after 30 seconds on seat bottom and back setting and back setting only. The switch lights up like its going to work and then shuts itself off after approx. 30 seconds. The driver seat works great which led me to believe it was a heating element. I ordered new heating elements from GM for the seat bottom and back and installed but am still having the exact same problem. Any ideas? or anyone who has had a similar problem?

I got mine from a GM dealer and they were around $130 for both of them. Pulled codes and it had codes for high resistance for both elements. After researching I found that there is a known issue with the plug going into the memory seat module. There is a bad connection which causes a false reading for high resistance. I pulled all the plugs off the module and packed them full of dialectric grease. Everything has worked great since.
