USA/Canda Luxury Vehicle Sales Figues

Hey guys, just stumbled on this article talking about sales figures in USA/Canada for Luxury vehicles over $60,000. I think the market leaders will surprise you. This article lets me know that GM wont be changing there tactics in regards to vehicle spec'ing and pricing for some time to come. $80,000 half tons just around the corner? Does this surprise you or did you expect this? Leave your thoughts.

One thing the article does not mention is where the 60k threshold comes from or if it is adjusted annually.  10 to 20 years ago, 60k bought a hell of a lot more car/truck than it does now.  Is 60k just this year's number, or are they using it as a fixed number?  If it's fixed, I predict that 90% of all vehicle sales will be considered luxury in 10 years.  60k Civic anyone?

Luxury vehicles are typically segmented based on manufacturer.

As much as I love my truck, it’s not a luxury vehicle.
