Painted bumper trim

Has anyone painted the chrome bumper trim? I've searched the forums and google but can't find any pics other then of base model trucks with crappy black plastic.Trying to decide if I should get it painted black or color match but need reference.

Just use Plasti-Dip. I painted my entire bumper with Plasti dip and it looks great.

That part is supper flex and some type of rubber. I wouldn't imagine it would stay looking good. Mine is beat to shit. And I'm only lowered 3/5"

Was looking for just the chrome piece painted but that looks super good with the whole thing being painted! Might be doing that too haha

Somewhere along the way somebody named that thing the “chrome mustache”  if you do a google search of this site for Silverado chrome mustache you’ll find a dozen or so threads about this including how to remove it. Your best bet would be buy or trade yours for the black plastic one then have it painted. I’d bet if you post it up on the classified section of the site somebody will swap you theirs for yours.

I would recommend just replacing it with a black one that is standard on most of the trucks. I don’t have a high country so I’m not sure if you can just take the chrome part off or not, but if you replace your whole bottom plastic with just a normal black plastic one, you’d be good (and can probably sell your chrome one)
