Headlight question

I’d join headlight junkies on FB and ask for a local builder near you. There’s a lot of helpful guys and builders there than get it squared away for you, if you don’t want to try it yourself. Those led lights are pricey..

I opened up my LT headlights to put Klearz lenses in. It wasn’t bad.

I ultimately decided to swap LTZ headlamps in to my LT. That also wasn’t bad and just requires a resistor for the turn signal. The truck-side harness and BCM are already correct to do that swap.

I’d love to trade grilles with you if you want the all black version. Do you have a Z71? I like the LTZ chrome inserts.

It’s just an LTZ, I like the chrome surround it’s just the chrome inserts I don’t care for, are the inserts separate?

There a fairly recent post about this topic somewhere. The inserts are separate but, as I understand it, all of the plastic in the grille is welded together. The grille can only be found as a whole assembly. There are a few guys on eBay selling the parts but that’s all I’m aware of.

I can't remember where I seen them but there is a insert cover that you can get in chrome or black that uses 3m tape to cover your existing inserts but still looks stock. I'll send you a link when I remember [emoji38]

Idk what I was thinking about the bcm earlier. Lol. My wife was talking as I was typing and I had a brain fart. Lol. You would only need a resistor when swapping from the LT to ltz lights, but unsure if anyone has down graded the other way around.

I don't wanna give up my LEDs for sure, just wanna get rid of that little bit of chrome under the lens. It's gonna be a bit of a project but it'll be worth it to me. The grille will be much easier.
