Car Buying

For a note on authenticity, I am a Navy Certified Financial Counselor. That really means that I went to a week-long school on how to keep yourself and your co-workers out of financial hardship.

But we did spend quite a bit of time on buying vehicles because it is a big purchase and young people routinely get taken to the cleaners by unscrupulous car dealers. Not that all dealers are bad, but all are not good, either.

Anyhow, I ran across this website that has a wealth of info on car buying tips, preparation before visiting dealers, how to talk to salesmen and also included are free downloads for figuring car payments and general home budgeting.

There are also links to a great number of sites that give specific assistance in a variety of areas.

I encourage everyone to take a long look at this and use it to your advantage if you are looking for a new or used vehicle.

As a side note, one of my coworkers is in the market for a new Tahoe. he has been looking around at internet and dealer sales and just hasn't had much luck getting the price he wants.

After using some of the tips on the site and doing a little homework, he has managed to knock $6000.00 off MSRP at one dealer without ever setting foot inside. It took two phone calls to do this.
