anybody install this? is there a usb in the back of the radio that I'm not seeing? or do I have to have a cable running to the usb in the front?

Yes. You have to use the USB port in the front

So what I am going to do is get another USB outlet like the factory one,  plug it into the factory harness and tuck it in behind the panel,  and using the VAIS aux USB outlet and cut the wires off there outlet, and tap into the original USB outlet still installed in the panel.   So I will still have that port for charging.   One thing to note though is you will loose android auto functions,  which is kind of a bummer because occasionally use it to project maps or waze,  but xm is more important soooo.   I could use the xm app but it is not as seamless and does not work if you are in an area without cell service.

Another option for XM radio is the phone app.  I have the app on my phone and can stream it all from Bluetooth or if my phone is plugged into the usb.  Just like your waze or music it can be ran from the trucks display.  Works great.
