Mirror Questions?

Looking at a 2015 Sierra 2500 Denali. It has the large side mirrors with the chrome caps, orange front facing lenses, the small clear lights that shine rearwards, power mirrors but not power folding.

 

The only time I can get the orange front facing lights to do anything is when I lock or unlock the doors.....they flash and will time out in the 30 seconds that is set in the DIC. I can not get the clear lights to light up at all when in reverse???...Dealer told me it has to be dark out. I parked in my dark garage and still nothing. 

 

When should the orange front markers illuminate? What is the function for them.

 

Am I doing something wrong to get the clear backup ones to light up.....

 

Maybe there is an issue with them that needs fixed.

Uncertain if you have a 2015 or 2015.5, there is a difference how the reverse lights work.

 

for 2015, press the cargo light switch and the reverse lights will come on in park and neutral only.

 

for 2015.5, press the cargo light switch and the reverse lights will come on in park,, neutral and reverse.

 

For the front facing markers, they should come on when running lights are on.   

 

Since they aren’t power fold, they could be the accessory or aftermarket mirror and door harnesses might not have been changed at the same time.

How to tell if 15 or 15.5, likely 15 as build is 07/14. Do not come on either way, the clear reverse ones.

Build date it is a 15,  a 15.5 has RPO code AVF in the glove box.

I put the same OEM mirrors but with powerfold on my 2015 2500hd Denali. I changed the mirror switch and the power fold works. My mirror lights do exactly what your lights are doing, I wonder if the dealer can fix this reprogramming the computer?
