I am wondering if any of you can brake your tires loose when you mash on it. I cant even get a little chirp from mine. Is there something wrong or do I just need more power cause the rig weighs too much?

My Tahoe doesnt break the tires loose. But when I first installed the Ram Air setup, I forgot to plug the Mass Air FLow sensor in. My service engine light was on, but I could really spin them then, even with the 600 lbs of stereo equipment in the back.... When I realized the problem with the SES light and plugged it in, I went to back to the old sluggish Hoe mode. I'm wondering if the hypertech can cure my Ills.. maybe cut out the torque management or something..

I have never really tried to break the tires loose on my 99 (285s, 3.42) But the other day when the guy that bought my 95 test drove it he accidentally did a little squeeling in it till it locked up (265/70s, 3.73 G80) . I really wish my 99 had 3.73s instead of the 3.42s, but it has lots more power than the 95 did anyway. My dad has a 99 suburban 2wd with 3.42s and G80. It will get scratch quite easily. I don't like to burn the tires on my 4x4s just because of how much heavier the drive-train and wheels/tires are. Seems like it would be hard on the tranny. I would like to do a gear change, but not sure how that would affect the Autotrac.

Hmm, seeems that I can break my tires loose... and I have 3.42s. Oh wait, I have a 383 stroker so I guess that dosen't count. :) Anyway, there was no way the origional TBI engine would break the tires loose on dry pavement unless I was making a turn. No way to do a burnout either even with torque braking. I'm putting 4.10s in soon too, so my tires won't be around for much longer.

I can brake em loose. its a 2Dr 1996 Tahoe. Its funny as hell doing it too... people just look at ya like: :thumbs::thumbs: how in the world can a truck that huge do a burnout? It'll run too, Not as fast as my OTHER vehicle, but it'll run

Only in a turn my friend only in a turn. But they can get loud in a turn. My 99 has the 3:42's and 285's. Talk about getting Neutered. I would love to get 4:10's but not sure. I will probably get nothing. But 4:10 would kill MPG right? Would I be better with 3:75's?

hey hey hey, I can chrip em.. actually I can get em to lay about 20 ft. of rubber. just gotta know how to do it. best to do it when its a tad DAMP, or when there's a bit of sand at the red light, that always helps, lol.

But here's how I've done it in the past: Brake the tahoe, fully, rev the tahoe up just to the point where its about the break the tires loose.. light goes green, floor it. release brake a split second later, and you'll be laying some rubber on the tarmac... ok ok.. its a bit of cheating, but its not like i'm completely powerbraking it.. hehe..
