deduncan Posted September 15, 2003 Posted September 15, 2003 So, I was out at the local airshow this weekend, excited to see the Thunderbirds do their arial demonstration. All was well until the 6th plane took off. He went straight up, flipped over, and then looped back down. He was about 40-50ft off the ground when he ejected. It was singlehandedly the craziest thing I've seen in my life. It was also the quietest I've heard 85,000 people. After he ejected, the crowd erupted. I wasn't in the front, but I could see the pilot standing up and waving. He made it out ok. The plane crashed in front of the tower, probably 1/4 of a mile in front of the crowd, so no one was hurt. $14 million later, this is what we have: http://www.msnbc.com/news/966660.asp?0cv=CB20
greyghost03 Posted September 15, 2003 Posted September 15, 2003 Man, that pilot was lucky to get out of that deal alive!
99silveradoz71 Posted September 16, 2003 Posted September 16, 2003 I caught that on the news. Good to see bad situations that turn out ok.
Wingnut Posted September 16, 2003 Posted September 16, 2003 I caught that on the news. Good to see bad situations that turn out ok. No kidding...At least they didn't drill all 6 of them into the ground again...Took them several years to recover from that tragedy.
