Luis Aguilera Posted April 24, 2019 Posted April 24, 2019 Last October we received a lot of rain and water penetrated interior, pillar and sun visor. I took to the dealer and they replaced the satellite antenna. At the beginning of the year I would get calls from OnStar that the theft deterrent alarm was triggered. I would go outside or wherever I was and would look and the alarm was NOT going off. The dash did say theft deterrent system activated. This went on for several months and would happen like every 2 weeks. On April 4 on our way out of town, we stopped at a store and the suburban would not lock or unlock using remotes. I manually locked suburban and upon using the hidden key in remote to open the door, the alarm went off. After alarm cycled off, of course it would not start. I figured maybe it was a low or dead vehicle battery. I called dealer and they said it sounds like a dead battery, so I had a friend nearby come and we jump started the suburban. I drove to dealer and sure enough the battery was very low and they replaced it. After leaving I got a code on dash about "remotes not programmed" then it went away. As we got on the interstate to leave, I lost the psi readings and it showed all lines. So I pulled off the interstate and checked the psi in all tires and they read good. The remotes still didn't lock or unlock suburban. So back to the dealer I went and they could not find the problem. It's been there for 3 weeks now and they have replaced different modules such as RCDLR, remote receiver module, BCU and other modules, onstar antenna and cannot find or figure what the issue is. I asked them to please call Chevy and see if an engineer can figure out problem. First they said my aftermarket window tint was not allowing remote signals in, seriously after having my suburban for 3 years now they claim its the tint? Anyone out there encountered this issue?
AirForceAngler Posted April 24, 2019 Posted April 24, 2019 (edited) They're full of crap by saying it's the tint. Have them test the stuff with the windows down if they think it's the tint. Edited April 24, 2019 by AirForceAngler
danielcwebb Posted March 27, 2021 Posted March 27, 2021 I'm curious if you ever figured this out. I'm having the exact same problem in my 2015 Yukon XL.
