Advice for Prepping Truck for Hurricane?

My son is stationed at Camp LeJeune and Hurricane Isabel is headed his way. I asked what his plans were for his truck and he said he would be parking it on high ground as far away from buildings and trees as possible. I suggested that he empty out the bed and roll up & secure his Truxedo soft tonneau so the wind wouldn't get under it. Any other suggestions aside from keeping his State Farm information handy?

Well considering I am only a few miles from him and had been through a few hurricanes, Fran being the worst. As long as he keeps it away from anything that can fall on it and hope nothing flys into it as well as on high ground so no flooding is around he should be safe. The biggest problem is flying objects. A tree fell on my 65 Impala and that was the worst time in my life when I went out to see that. At least I was able to fix it but not after spending major money because the car was off the road and no insurance on it at the time. :(

I know there isn't a D cell battery in sight or any chain saw supplies as well as gas cans. It amazes me that people wait till the last minute to stock up.

Everyone on the East coast, STAY SAFE!!!!
