Brake question

So the brake pedal has some travel on my 95 k1500. When the peadle feels like it catches the brakes still feel a little sluggish. I've been told this is normal on this type of truck. Is that true? I've bleed the brakes 5 times along with the abs bleed thing on the Kelsy Hays abs unit. Or could it be a failing master cylinder?

What condition are the brakes in?  Pads and  rotors,  drums and shoes?

Make sure the rear shoes are adjusted right.

I've grown accustomed to my truck's pedal feel, but others have said it feels 'mushy'.  Someone at GM Service said that it is a natural side-effect of the brake system (designed that way, intentionally, so that small people, without a lot of leg strength, would be able to stop the truck effectively).

Could be the vacuum brake booster. Does it make a hissing sound near the pedal? Mine got mushier and mushier and hissier and hissier. I changed the booster without breaking the brake lines - I’ve heard bleeding them can be a chore. Tricky part is getting to the nuts behind the steering column.

no hissing just not like my 04 was, its like the brakes are kinda lazy...(just like my ex wife lol)
