Gm techs transmission question

I took my 18 gmc 6.2 8spd with 5000miles back to the dealership today for transmission problems flair-shift,delayed-engagement and not downshifting at stop signs. They couldn’t find any problems ( big surprise). My truck was driven a total of 2.8 miles! How can you check for transmission problems in that short of a drive? They only looked at the truck after I arrived the dealership 8 hrs later  when I got in the truck to leave the trans temp was on 137 degrees! So GM techs can you diagnose transmission problems on 2.8 mile trip with the transmission not up to operating temperature?

Yes we can. And over 100 is spec for a few programming and relearn. Even to fill and flush fluid it is over 100. But I would still quess they mostly pulled the codes and drove around the block. Inwould try manual mode so or tow mode. Try to keep it out of v4 mod.

Ok thanks. I’ve done a little  bit of trans work but nothing on the new stuff mostly glides and turbos. I very seldom get in v4 I have a short drive to and from work and I have a heavy foot. When on the highway I’m usually pulling a boat. On the paperwork it said Technician notes that transmission is one of the smoothest he has seen and it works perfectly. Service writer said we would just have to wait till it tears up before they can do anything. I said that’s easy for you to say your not the one that’s got to pay for an out of warranty trans repair.
