Relearning for TPMS

Recommended Posts

I bought some rims from a friend, rims are new last year. The dealership said they weren't able to re-learn them to the truck because they are an older sensor. They said the sensors are reading to their machines and everything but can't sync with the truck because the 2019's use a newer sensor? Anyone have any info or insight?

Correct, the old sensors are 315MHz and the new sensors are 433MHz.

You will need to purchase new 433MHz sensors and have them installed.

Yes, had the same problem with an 2004 suburban.

I just bought stock 2018 aluminum wheels and I wasn't able to learn the new wheels using the EL-50448 TPMS tool. I suspected the sensors were removed so I bought new 433MHz sensors PN13598773 and those wont learn with the tool either.

I want snow tires on my stock steelies and all season on the mags. How do I do that? Do I have to buy some kind of programming tool to use between seasons?

If your truck is 2018 or older it will require the 315hz sensor . The 2019 new body alone have changed to the 433hz

Discount tire said they had a note in their computer to set up the learning tool to a chevy traverse.  not sure what year.  may give that a try.
