I had it in my '01 with 63k miles or so. I'm no mechanic, but I didn't feel any problems. I changed it out after about 2k miles (long story why) though. I checked oil levels at every fill up and it was always at full.

I'm running AMSOIL ATF in my truck as well as in my wifes van and we are not having any problems at all. I have ran it in our past vehicles and they all ran fine. I have also noticed a decrease in tranny temps after I switched over to the synthetic fluid.

I have been running Amsoil ATF for years in my GM trucks, never had a problem and the trans will run cooler.

I have had it in my 98 4l60e for about 30,000 miles. Works great and no problems. I did a full flush with it. The tranny now has 92,000 miles on it with no problems.

 thanks guys

i guess i'll plan on doing that next week

i heard i could get a couple of 5 gallon buckets

and disconnect the cooler lines

fill one bucket with the new and drop one line into it

put the other hose in the empty bucket for the old

cranker up and it will do the rest

if you guys have any better sugg let me know

Thanks again

That method won't work as there is no suction on the input side. It will just start gurgling after the pump runs dry and that's not a good thing. I know somebody that does similar. One big bucket, run engine until 4 qts in bucket, shut off, pour in 4 qts, repeat a few times.

I run Amsoil ATF; Amsoil 0W30 Series 2000 engine oil and Amsoil 75W90 Synthetic gear lube. 16mpg city; 11 mpg towing 28' Travel Trailer in Colorado mountains over passes up to 11,500'.

I am happy with the performance and the protection that the Amsoil synthetic provides.

Well changed mine over yesterday, dropped the pan and put a new filter and seal on. That old seal sure was a PITA to get off, make sure you have a little hook to pull it down with. Added a B&M drain plug kit to the pan, and put it all back together. Every week for the next month I'll drain it and refill with Mobil 1. Then every other or every third oil change I'll do the same, that'll keep nice fresh new fluid in the tranny, and for about the same price as an oil change, I can easily afford that. Shifts a lot smoother now also, although it didnt shift rough before.

Instead of attempting to take the lines loose from the transmission cooler, cut one of the lines where it transition to rubber hose and attach a length of hose to both ends via a barbed unions that leads to the bucket you're draining into. When you're done join the cut ends with one of the barbed unions and clamp.

Whole lot easier than trying to take a line loose from the cooler and end up twisting the fitting clean off of the cooler.

Trust me on this!

advance auto has a nice hi volume hand pump for 10 bucks

comes with plenty of hose

this is what i first used when i got the truck just to get

the old fluid out of it , kinda like firecadet did

i just thought there may be a way to get it all out at one time

(besides the flush method)

but that sounds fine to me and if i only change out 5 or 6 quarts

a week it'll be a little better on my budget

have a good one guys
