Got a settlement from a Tahoe lawsuit

So I was part of this petition that GM misqouted the tank size on the 95-98 Tahoe's/Yukon's.  This was like a year or more ago.

So the other day I get the settlement.  It's $750 towards another GM car or truck.

While that's all fine and dandy, at least unless the GTO/Impala/Monte Carlo due come out with the LS6, I don't plan on buying any new vehicle anytime soon let alone within the 3 year period they're giving me.  This is what pisses me off a bit!  Had this settlement come 6 months sooner, I could've put it toward the 2500HD.

However now, this $750 will most likely be wasted and I essentially recieved NO benefit from this settlement.

I'm sure there are others in the same boat as I am in.  I feel in a way, GM pulled one over on the petition's lawyers, knowing that the majority probably wouldn't follow through or simply forget about it when they did go buy a new vehicle.  Not to mention, many of these people in the settlement may not even be considering another GM product next time they're in the market.

Sorry, just ranting!!!

I got the same thing, actually quite awhile ago I think.  Like you said, pretty much useless unless your in the market for a new vehicle before the time runs out.  !#$#& GM settling to make someone happy, doesn't do anything for the "average" person.

I'm confused as to why this would need a settlement?  Was this some kind of safety issue?

Go get one of the ZL1 Camaros that they're going to make only 69 of to pay tribute to the '69. It will have the LS6 and is a beast. $54k plus, though! One of the dealers here in Colorado will have one, at least.

I think it had something to do with GM putting "X" gallon gas tanks in their documentation but then actually putting smaller tanks in the truck.  So someone decided to sue.  Being the owner of a 97 Tahoe, I got the petition, I just signed it, I couldn't have cared less and I really didn't think I'd see anything from it.

Oh well, one of those LS6 powered CTS's or a GTO may see there way into my driveway.  I need something somewhat practical and the ZL1 doesn't fit that bill.  Besides, I already have a Camaro that puts down the ZL1's numbers at the rear wheels.
