Pic of how your radar detector is mounted

Like the title says: how do you have your radar detector mounted? Do you have it hard wired? If so, where did you tap the power?

Just ordered a Uniden R3 and am looking for ideas on where/how to mount it discretely.

TIA!

I was wondering if it would fit well where your Fastrak is mounted. Then again, with how big the suction mounts are, likely it wouldn’t fit there? Trying to get ideas before it comes in so I can order the right mount/hardwiring kit.

Anything suction cup related is not discreet IMO.

I have my escort 9500 mounted to the windshield with a metal bracket that got off amazon. It’s mounted off the left side of the rear view mirror and as high as I can get it. I don’t use my visor so if I get pulled over I can lower my visor and it’s covered

I just have mine mounted up and to the right of the rearview mirror with a SuperCup - not the greatest, and I want some other method plus a new RD anyways.  Mine is hardwired to the driver side fuse box, cables ran through the headliner and down the driver side a-pillar.

I have the R3 with this suction cup, the one that came with it sucks and fall off often.

Ill take a picture of mine and update the post. I have mine mounted on the left bottom corner of the windshield so the R3 rests on the dash when its suctioned to the glass.

I still use the provided cord to the cigarette lighter, routed the wire over the steering wheel. Its easy to take out if need be and click it back in.
