Engine hot or cold, say backing out of parking spot, just dies.  Cruising down highway, slow down for curve, dies.

Brought to dealer, cannot find any issue.  Says there is no code showing up.  Occasionally the CEL will just flash and go away.

Truck has ZERO modifications, 27K mi and beside what I would consider too much slack or clunk in the rear differential all is well.

You’re absolutely correct, same thing happened to my wife’s Escalade, turned out it was the negative cable needing replacement. The connector crimped onto the cable wasn’t crimped tight enough causing engine shut off. It’s a scary situation but easily remedied. Good luck

The truck is for my son, and I told him to check cables, connections and so on.  But not so thoroughly.   This will be done in the morning.

Went to the dealer, but who know what they did, or likely didnt do.

Here’s what was done on my 18 Sierra, the same thing that was wrong with my Escalade.

It’s a common problem with GM, replacing the negative cable tends to fix it. It’s a cheap start with high results

Just did the grounds under the upper dash.  Both were clean, tight, and no interference from anything.  Loosened them and tightened back just for the heck of it.

Ground cable next

The actual pc that clamps onto the battery cable itself may not be clamped down enough and has been a problem for years
