Body lift kits...worth buying?

I'm really glad I got mine. I've had it on for 1 1/2 years with no problems. I have the Performance Accessories brand 3 inch B/L, which came with everything I needed except for the gap guards. I paid $210 total for the B/L from JC Whitney after using a 15% off coupon on any order over $200 and then adding S$H charges. The regualer price was $225. T bought the gap guards for $55 I think from site on the net. Install was free. Myself, my brother, and a couple friends did it. We had a good time doing it too. I think yours won't come with the brackets to raise the bumpers, but you can get them seperately from Performance Accessories.

Here's some pics of my install, if interested.

I also went with a Performance Accesories 3" body lift. I am very pleased with the results. I would definately recommend this as a good lift for those that cannot justify a suspension lift.

Anybody using a body lift kit? What brand? How tall? Worth doing? Would you do it again? I have a 97 Yukon.

I have a 3" body lift by Performance Accessories . I love it, it was easy to install too. My brother and I did it in a few hours. I got it here from Tyres International:

When I got mine (this summer) they were cheaper than JC Whitney. I think it was around $150 included front bumper brackets. But I notice it says call on the price now instead of having it listed. If yours is a 2-door there are no brackets for the back bumper available since it bolts directly to the frame. I decided against moving mine up because there would be a gap between it and the receiver hitch and the gas tank would then be exposed. You can get brackets for a 4-door though.

I have a 3 inch Performance Accessories body lift on my Screw. This is the third truck that I've installed a body lift on and I wouldn't hesitate to install another one. They are a great product for people who want a small lift. :fume:

I also put on a 3" Performance Acc. BL. Did the bed by myself and the cab with my father. Easy job IMO. This is the second truck I've owned and put a PA BL on it. Wouldn't hesitate to do it again. I've got some pics in my sig of the truck after the BL. I also made my own Gap Guards for 7$, much cheaper than buying them from PA. I put the rear bumper lift brackets on mine, people think I've got a 4" suspension lift, shouldn't really be able to tell if it's a BL or suspension if it is installed cleanly and finished right. An alternative to the body lift, is a torsion key lift. This basically reverses the bracket on the torsion bar, and gives you 2.5 inches. The price for this is roughly 350 depending on where you're located. I would go this way, because by the time you buy body fillers you're looking at 600 or more for a good looking body lift. The torsion key also gives you the opportunity to put a 2" block in the rear to level the vehicle.
