Disassembling steering wheel

Hey all,

 

I've got a truck w/o DIC and purchased the appropriate wiring harness as well as a bent steering wheel (which has the buttons). I'm going to transplant the buttons onto my steering wheel and then have my dealer reprogram the BCM. What I'm wondering is how the inserts (that house the buttons) are removed from the steering wheel. I can see that they are separate pieces, but can't figure out how to remove them.

 

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sure wish I could help, but I think you are going to be the leader on this one, and going by our past postings here on the DIC, I'm sure a LOT of folks are going to be curious if you can get a fully functioning Driver Information Center with your add-on.
