Location of brake control module

Hello I did a quick google search and didn’t find anything.

 

I took my 14 Silverado in for a few things today. One of which was the brake control module recall.

 

When I dropped it off this morning my aftermarket stereo worked and when I picked it up it didn’t. Total blank screen no power. Of course hopefully it’s just a fuse

 

Say that the only remotely probable cause was this recall. Like if I find out the module is behind the stereo it seems we are on the right track. Unfortunately I don’t know where it is. Of course it could be just really bad luck but I doubt it.

Sorry stupid train of thought probably done through obd port. Hmmm just bad luck?

The reprogram is done thru the OBD2 port, the BCM is under the dash somewhere I believe.

The most common use of BCM is body control module, which typically is under the dash in GM's trucks.

Don't know where a "brake control module" would be, in my truck the ABS controller is under the cab, beneath the driver's seat.

Anyway the dealer did something to cause it but I disconnected the negative battery terminal and reseated some fuses and it seems to work now.
