My art teacher decided that he wouls throw a ceramic cup across the room over the students from the back to the front, in order to express himself and show us an example of dadaism.  BUT we didn't know he was going to AND he can't throw.

The cup hit two girls injuring them both, one was bleeding and sitting in the floor.  He told someone to take her to the bathroom and he just started class.  He said in 30 some times this has never happened, she'll be fine it was just a little cut.

HE DIDN'T EVEN CARE!!!!!!  He acted as if he had no responsibility at all.

I walked out and went to the dean's office.  His was not in,  his secretary said I should go to the art dept. head.  His secretary was very nice and got him out fo class to talk to me.

HE BLEW ME OFF!!!!!  He said "What do you want me to do about?"  I said I want him held accountable.  And he said "I'm sure he didn't mean to do it."  I said that's not the point.  He should no enough not to do it, because that could happen AND he should take responsibility when he screws up.

After being very dissatisfied with my results I went to the President of the school, who was not in.  I told his secretary what happened and made an appointment to come back after class.

By then the Pres. already knew about it from his secretary and had gotten Campus Security Supervisor who is also State Police to investigate.  Now I'm waiting for a call from this guy to get a statement.

Supposedly from what some other teachers told me this art teacher has pulled similar crap before, but everyone is afraid to stand up and say something.  And that when he finds out I complained, my grade in his class will probably suffer.

All I know is I have 3 A's on 3 tests, with one more next week. I can take a 0 on it and stil get a D or C in the class, so if I fail the class this guy will definately be hearing about it from me.  I'm not afraid of him.  I don't care.  And if this blows over with nothing being done, I'm gonna make this school's administration VERY UNHAPPY!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry this is so long. I just needed to vent one more time.

Tear 'em a new one bud!

Professors and School administration in general need to realize that their customers are the students, and therefore, they exist to service the students!

This is at Concord College, Athens, WV.

I've found that I have several other faculty members onmy side, and so far the secretary in every office I 've been to.  Now we'll just see if they stick with it or, just blow smoke.

The one secretary did make the statement, "He and alot of others forget that without these students we wouldn't have jobs!"

This guys sounds like a dumb-a$$ to me.

Ceramic cup...like a coffe cup/mug?  If so, no wonder the girl was bleeding.  ???

What an a$$hole that guy is.

Good job on standing up to him and doing something about it, otherwise he will probably just do it again.  It really does seem like schools have forgotten about the students and that it is us the students they are their to serve.

Well, I guess now I just have to wait and see.  Nobody has called for my statement yet, but I had to leave for a while.

The one girl had to have stitches above her eye, but there is still a possiility of a concussion.  And the other girl has her arm in a sling, and last I heard it was swelling and they were gonna ave to take X-Rays.

I git to thinking about it.  There was one woman who had to bring her child with to class today.  The little girl was ery small, just barely able to run but she could walk ok.  If that mug had hit that little girl in the head like that it could've killed her.

This is not a small matter!

First of all, the girl(s) need to tell their parents for sure.

Second, you need to be commended for doing the right thing.

Dont let it rest, get as many people involved as you can.

Call the local news and even the local paper.

Plz keep us posted.

Wow that's pretty amazing to think that some people think this is acceptable behavior.  Especially the Principal/Dean!

I think it's very good with what you are doing.  Keep it up and don't let this guy get away with what he has done.  Hopefully the other teachers/secretarys will stand behind you.

Keep us posted & let us know what happened.  I'm interested in finding out.
