I am looking to purchase the AUTOMETER dashlink gauge system. Is it possible to have the OBD2 port scanner connect with the CHEVY MYLINK system and display on the screen while driving. I would like to avoid adding an IPOD to the dashboard.
Any information will be greatly appreciated

Thanks

Think it would work through CarPlay, if your phone is connected through the USB port?

I f the App shows when your phone is connected, you should be able to see it.

Thank You. I am going to order the AUTOMETER system. If it does not work out the way I was hoping. I have an old IPad I can try and mount.

That would only work if the iPhone is jailbroken or the Autometer app is a CarPlay enabled app or the MyLink system has been altered to allow video in motion.

So, what is Waze and the factory Nav considered, never have thought about what you said, nor do I have idea what the difference might be.

Seeing how both are "in motion" as you drive.

The only apps that show up in CarPlay when the phone is connected are the apps that have been through the process to be "allowed" to show up by Apple.

The only way around that is to jailbreak the iPhone, then do whatever needs done to allow sharing of the iPhone screen on the MyLink screen.

What part of the MyLink system would need to be removed and sent to White Auto and Media to have video in motion. I sent them my gauge cluster for programming and HUD. I am sure they can do video in motion

I am going to show my age by asking this question

What does it mean to have the phone jailbreak?

I ordered the unit. I will let you know what happens when it comes in next week

To jailbreak your iPhone is to free it from the limitations imposed on it by its manufacturer (Apple) and carrier (e.g. AT&T, Verizon, etc.). After a jailbreak, the device can do things it previously couldn't, such as install unofficial apps and modify settings and areas of the phone that were previously restricted.

If it was able to be done, the HMI module would be what is needing programmed.  What you are looking for is the ability to mirror your phone on the MyLink display.

I went to Autometer's site and the Dashlink app currently is not a CarPlay/Android Auto app, but they "are looking into it".
