Max trailering package?

Recommended Posts

I’m picking up a 2018 Yukon xl Denali. How do you know if it has the max trailering package? It comes with the hitch and integrated brake control, but not sure if the max package has more than this.

You should also see  a trailer brake control on dashbaord and then load 400 pounds  in back and the air levelling  compressor suspension  should kick in, you hear the compressor near the driver side rear wheel area

That’s great to hear. It does have the HI low (so yes on the transfer case) as well as the integrated brake controller. I’ll have to check the air leveling suspension when it gets here. To see if it has it. Thanks for the info.

If your controls look like this you have the max trailering package which has the 3.42 gears

He's asking about a Denali, so it'll have the 6.2L and 3.23 gearing. The 3.42 vs 3.08 gearing difference with Max Trailering only applies with the 5.3L.

You can find all the codes for all the RPO numbers (Regular Production Orders) posted on the broadcast/build sheet in the glove compartment. Look for the "G" codes regarding the gear ratios.(GU4, GT6 etc). RPO#  G80 is posi-traction.
