Swap out 4.8 for 6.0

Read up on the good amount of differences between the two generations of engines and it will likely change your mind.

The 2005 is a GEN 3, the 2009 truck is a GEN 4.

Gen 3's are 24/1x crank trigger, Gen 4's are 58/4x crank trigger. The cam sensor is on the rear of the engine in a GEN 3 but a GEN 4 is in the front cover. Gen 3's have the knock sensors in the valley cover under the intake manifold, the Gen 4's are bolted to the side of the engine block by the oil pan.

So if you're up for machine shop work to swap reluctor wheels on the crank, drilling and tapping the block and harness modding plus other little odds and ends, then I guess go for it.

Finding a GEN 4 6.0 is far easier, then just pray the 4L60e stays alive.

A 2005 harness would not work in a 2007.5+ truck. He's lose everything. No transmission, no cluster, no abs/traction control etc etc.

Find a Gen IV 6 liter... they are everywhere.  Look for the LY6 or L96 used in the HD trucks, Van's, cab and chassis 2 tons etc.  Without going into detail nobody reads anyway you will never make an LQ9 run in an 09 truck.

just boost the little 4.8 to 20 psi... and rebuild the tranny, run blow thru carb on E85, no need for all the intercooler plumbing, just get it done and go have FUN!
