SquireSCA
Planning to just delete the muffler and have a piece of pipe welded in, like I did on my 2018 Silverado. Sounds great on that truck However, on the 2018 which I just gave to my wife, we removed the exhaust flapper as well, because I flashed a tune with the SuperChips Flashpaq F5 and that disabled the AFM, so no more 4 cyl mode helicopter exhaust note. My concern is on the 2019, I have no such cheap tuning method and am not sure how it will sound if I remove the muffler AND the flapper thingie... Will it sound awful if I remove it due to the AFM of this motor? Anyone done it? I want to cut once and do it right the first time and not learn the hard way. haha
Big Whiskey
I doubt you'll get much action on this one, because you posted in the HD section. You'll be better off if you post in the 1500 section.
ewbldavis
X2 - not trying to be an ass, but did you read the forum title? HOWEVER - I did remove muffler and clamped flap open on my 2015 Sierra 1500. Highway drone was awful, and I hated the V4 mode. My suggestion is get the plug-in modder that deletes V4 at a minimum if you plan on modifying exhaust. Aside from the V4 drone, it sounded AWESOME with muffler delete. Edited December 27, 2019 by ewbldavis Edit: Maybe you realized many of us started with 1500's, so I'll give you that :)
