I have a 1973, GMC with a 454 engine.  Every thing works well.  (Mechanically).  I live in Arisona and during cold weather all is relatively well.  Hot weather I get s vapor lock in hot  temperatures.  Couple of paid ‘mechanics’ have worked on it but never solved the issue.  Any suggestion from the group?

Second moving the fuel lines. Vapor lock is almost always a heat issue as fuel vaporization happen easy due to heat. You could also get with DEI and get some good fuel line insulation, but ultimately you should reroute the fuel lines.

An intake fuel pump also helps as it can prime easy. The block mounted fuel pump has a hard time priming vapor.
