2015 4x4 limited slip

Strange issue when using 4x4. Its rare I use it but when I do it’s usually wet grass or light mud nothing excessive by any means. It almost seems like the limited slip is sticking. You can feel the wheels turn a 1/4 of a turn more so when turning.  Ion reverse it will almost stop you completely. So frustrating all of the issues this model has had. I’ve owned Chevy trucks my whole life and this is my first issue. Any thoughts?

Welcome to the site.

How about some more information about your truck?

Do you see the RPO code G80 on the sticker in your glove box? That is the code for the "locking" differential.

Better description would help. From what you're saying now it sounds like normal 4x4 skipping if it's not nasty enough to need it.

So no G80 on glovebox sticker.  I’ve used 4x4 on this truck maybe a dozen times. Usually wet conditions stuck in grass or mud from pulling off the road or camping trail. This model has the chunk on the floor rather than a push button switch. When placing it into 4H or it feels like the wheels are working agents each other. I will take a video tonight but it’s like riding with someone that hasn’t ever driven a five speed. During the last service I also noticed the dealership crossed my wheel psi sensors. Right is left and left is right on the front tires. Not sure if this could be any issue.

I'm a novice with 4x4/4WD, this is my first one.  I had something similar happen last weekend, and it sounds like you're experiencing the same thing that I did.  @JimCost2014 was a great help in understanding that if the tires don't slip a little bit when turning, it's going to grind/bang.  Mine seemed to work flawlessly in the snow a few weeks ago, and last Saturday, in the dirt, GRIND/BANG.  The dirt that I was driving on was not as soft as it usually was, actually, it was SOLID (checked it today), so the tires had no way to slip in the turns.  Maybe it wasn't as slick as you were thinking?

It really doesn't take to much to bind up the 4x4 in hi or low.  It was just most likely the locked front wheels putting to much pressure on the backs.

You probably physically pushed one of the rear tires around because it was locked.
