Temp Gauge

Hey Guy this is my first post here. I have a 2015 1500 Silverado LT with the 5.3L 2WD. The temp gauge on my dash never reads correctly. I replaced the sensor thinking it would fix the problem but it never reads full running temp even if I drive it all day and night. It never gets past the first big line past 160. If I am correct it should just be under the 210 line. I was wondering what else it could be thats not sending the correct temp. All help is much appreciated thank you.

It could be the wiring to the temp sensor and/or the the temp sensor you replaced was faulty, and/or the instrument panel gauge is faulty and/or the ecm/bcm is faulty.

 

You need to diagnose where the problem is.

Did you buy the truck new or used? Was the thermostat swapped out to a 160?
