motoxgolf11 Posted January 15, 2020 Posted January 15, 2020 Hey Guy this is my first post here. I have a 2015 1500 Silverado LT with the 5.3L 2WD. The temp gauge on my dash never reads correctly. I replaced the sensor thinking it would fix the problem but it never reads full running temp even if I drive it all day and night. It never gets past the first big line past 160. If I am correct it should just be under the 210 line. I was wondering what else it could be thats not sending the correct temp. All help is much appreciated thank you.
davester Posted January 15, 2020 Posted January 15, 2020 It could be the wiring to the temp sensor and/or the the temp sensor you replaced was faulty, and/or the instrument panel gauge is faulty and/or the ecm/bcm is faulty. You need to diagnose where the problem is.
Lsgun1 Posted January 15, 2020 Posted January 15, 2020 Did you buy the truck new or used? Was the thermostat swapped out to a 160?
