Anyone used a PAC OEM-1 for adding an amp?

I have a 2003 Sierra 2500HD with Bose and want to put an Infinity Basslink under the extended cab seat. I want to keep my stock head unit. Instead of using a LOC, which it sounds like people are having trouble with, would this work?

Look under Part# OEM-1...

PAC OEM-1 Kits

Anyone have any experience with one of these?

Thanks,

Matt

The OEM-1 is a LOC. The biggest problem is that your still having to deal with the Bose eqing/cross overs.

It is NOT a LOC!!!!

This was what I was told by the guy at Audio Warehouse:

When I was talking to him about one of these for my cousin's '03 Silverado after the C2A-GM24 didn't work with his factory amp. My cousin did use a LOC hooked up to sub output of the factory amp to run his subs for a while, but he absolutely hated the attenuating/equing that the factory Bose system performed. I remember him saying that at higher volumes the Bose system cuts the bass output. Anyway, I installed the C2A-GM24 in my Sierra Denali and have been happy with it's performance. This adapter does defeat the Bose equing.

The pac adapter is not a LOC. A line output converter steps down a high power signal to a line voltage signal, bringing with it all the noise and limitations (eqing) of that amplified signal.

The Oem-1 (GM24) intercepts the "unimproved" signal from the head before eq and amp. It is not an LOC, therefore cleaner, and full range.

You are correct, you must get the right adapter for the right application.

Thanks for the heads up on the OEM. I gues I got some bad information, but should've been able to figure it out myself knowing that the OEM adapter would plug in before the factory amp and before the eq/attenuation.
