If anyone wants an easy way to turn off the passenger it’s simple. Buy a little seat belt extender on Amazon, it adds about 2 inches and plugs in the slot the seat belt plugs into $10. And want to turn it back on takes 2 seconds. My dog rides in the passenger seat and weighs 80 lbs so it’s nice not to have it turn on and off as I drive.

I don't think OP meant that it turns off passenger airbag but rather the annoying alert and chime about the passenger seat belt is not buckled since his pet dog is sitting there. The extender tricks the seat belt sensor that it's buckled up.

Why not just route the seat belt behind the seat and clip into the buckle as designed?  I just saved $10 with that one.  Now I can go get a spicy chicken meal from Chick fil-A.  YAY!
