1rocketman
Hi...newbie list member here.....the wipers on my dad's '93 Jimmy have stopped working. The fuse is ok, and the turn signals work properly. Any suggestions on how I can help him track this down (he lives in a diff part of the country than I do) ? Thanks in advance. 1rocketman
...looks like there's more to the story than I thought....I'm trying to get more details from my dad, but apparently the right turn signal also isn't working properly, and there is something funny going on with the digital dash as well. 1rocketman
For those who might be interested, the problem was an incorrect turn signal bulb believe it or not....(sorry it took me awhile to get back to this). After double-checking the part nbr on a new turn signal bulb recently installed, that turned out to be the problem. Replacing the bulb with the correct one cured all electric grelims that were showing up.
bowtie_pasta
Wow, that's interesting! Don't think I've heard of that happening before.
1rocketman
Yeah, that was definately a weird one.....(despite the fact I misspelled the word 'gremlins').....there were so many things happening, including lots of strange stuff with the digital dash - I thought it was something more serious.....I had a similar elect. problem with my '89 Turbo Trans Am one time, and it turned out to be a wrong bulb I had used in the parking/turn signal. So as a last resort, I suggested my dad double-check a bulb he had recently replaced. It was the wrong part nbr. This sort of problem is one of the strangest ones I've ever seen, you would think turn/parking signal bulbs wouldn't affect the overal voltage, etc of the electrical system enough to make something like this happen - but apparently that's not the case.
