I reset the whole thing by pulling the negative and leaving it over night. The next step cleaned the MAF Sensor, put cable back on turn key half way and exercise the accelerator slowly down hold for 2 seconds and retrieve into up position. That is generally called Throttle Body Reset and back the key out and reinsert and start and drive. This is what I did and I have a 2018 GMC Sierra 5.3 L83 engine. This is not a fix but a reprieve from this condition of stumbling thru gears and surge conditions. I have done this 2 times and it happened 1 time in 8 months since then for a brief moment?? No Rhyme or Reason???

Good luck with your truck dude.  Hang around, it’s some good stuff on here. You will get a tough crowd on every forum these days. It comes with the territory.  But you will also find a few guys that will try to help you out with their knowledge.  I’m new to the site so I guess that makes me a newbie. I’m a Porsche guy not a vette guy tho!!!  I’ve had mine for about 4 months and I notice an occasional lurch/buck at low speeds as well.  I have not felt that occasional 2nd gear lurch/ jolt since it’s been lifted which makes me believe the additional weight may have something to do with it.  I could be completely wrong...  Regardless it doesn’t do it anymore. I’m at about 10K miles now.  I hope you get things resolved.

Welcome to Bad Torque Converter land.  This eventually costs you 3800 to fix, and you will pay for it because GM is very subversively dodging the issue.
