2019 Silverado with 5.3 and 6 speed transmission, 10,000 miles. It has a bucking surging issue, most noticeable when accelerating or in town at lower speeds. It's done it since new.  It seems like quite a few people have complained about this issue. Is there a dealer reflash available to correct this? My dealer has been less than helpful. I have Hp Tuners that I use to tune my supercharged Vette but I really would like to leave this truck alone as I hate to have warranty issues. I'm at the point I need to do something, it's aggravating when you have passengers asking what's wrong with your truck.

If there isn't an updated flash I really don't want to take it to the dealer. I figured since this seems to be an issue with these trucks, someone here would know if there is an update.

No one knows if your truck has the latest software unless it is checked by a dealer IMO.

did you mod something?

run the VCM scanner and do some data logging with the HPT , and analyze your data.. maybe find a another stock tune from say a 2016 truck and reflash

You provide no codes, no current information. Asking for a "dealer reflash" for what? Engine, transmission, driveability...

Then you expect some type of knowledgeable opinion?

Have you considered the fact it's a pickup image.gif.f4bf3762094c3e16dd2fc0ccf1b53704.giftruck and not a car?

Think about it.

Can you do me a favor?  If you put the shifter all the way to "L" and set the gear to "5", does it still buck/surge?

Don't let a few people get you steered away from this forum.  I promise there are A LOT of great people here, some that reside in dealers, that might be able to steer you in the right direction for you to have some info to help with talking to your dealer to get it fixed right.

There are no codes, it's a drivability issue. So trucks are supposed to jerk and surge? The dealers around here don't know squat. I have had several tell me it's normal. Well I don't buy it. I don't have access to TSB's anymore so I Googled the issue. this site came up with several complaints about the same thing so I thought I would ask if anyone had a similar issue. I was hoping for a TSB number or someone that had recently had an issue like this. I am well aware that I don't know what flash is in it but the truck is a year old so if there is a recent TSB that might help me pin it down. I can log it and I can tune it but I really don't want to void the warranty on the drivetrain. Without data logging it I don't really know what is going on. I just don't appreciate being called a liar and being insulted for asking a question.

That's fine and I didn't mean to say you were lying, try what is posted above first.

Technicial service bulletins were never intended to be distributed to the general public tho they are a dime a dozen around here and passed around all the time. Everybody usually on the band wagon for all the wrong reasons, well that and the peeps that want to know "what they should have looked at" before the warranty expires.

In case it was missed from my other post, If you put the shifter all the way to "L" and set the gear to "5", does it still buck/surge?  No need to do any data log, just a simple driving test will do if you haven't done this at all/ever.  Just get it warmed up to operating temp, put it in L5 and see if it does the same as in D.

If you can try this and report back, I can shoot the proper bulletins that might apply and give your dealer a point to start on.

go to hptuners and i believe they have the stock tune files from other year trucks, try this and see what it does, or call hpt and ask a tech
