Thanks for the info. What exactly is the mud flap mod? My truck had big mud flaps on it when I got it but I took them off and put a factory cap on there so it sits flush with the rocker. Nothing hangs down beyond the rocker. But I did notice behind the inner fender liner a black bracket. What is the mod that has to be done?

Look at my post on the “factory gm 2” lift installed” thread for a step by step, basically there is a bracket that the mud flap mounts to under the felt wheel liner that can be removed to gain clearance on the backside of the wheel well (side closest to the drivers door) it gains roughly an inch or so of additional clearance. Without it done I could barely turn the wheel, after that I was able to get near full lock. Only having rub in reverse on the front lower valence. 
 

 
You remove the 3 torque screws on the front side of the mudflap, then remove a 10 mm bolt on the back side.  The mudflap can then be pulled away from the truck body and pushed towards the engine bay.  There will be another torque screw holding the carpet wheel liner to the bracket, remove this and pull the wheel liner up and away as much as you can.  This will give you access to the bracket behind it.  The bracket has 4 bolts that have 13 or 14 mm heads.  Remove those and the bracket comes off.  Then put everything back in reverse order.  The final step is to drill a small hole on the back side of the carpeted wheel liner near where it attaches to the rear front mudflap and insert and zip tie it into that new hole and an existing hole on the body near it to pull the flap back.  Do not drill thru the mudflap, just the carpet.  Repeat for the other side.  The whole process took me about 30-45 total for both side and I wasnt in a rush lol
 
here is the post. Someone else did the write up I’m not trying to steal it as my own just sharing it as it is very valuable when trying to gain a few inches of clearance. The directions aren’t super clear I’ll admit but peel back your fender liner a bit and you will see exactly what it is referring to.

Ok, thanks for taking the time to explain that. I have another set of wheels coming to try, 20x9 0 offset with 275/60/20 Nitto Ridge Grappler tires. I'm hoping the 0 offset takes care of the rubbing issues. If not I will definitely try this. I saw a few people in the custom offsets gallery running 20x9 0 with the same tires and had no rubbing issues and didn't have to do any trimming but I'm not sure what info to trust on that gallery anymore.

You should be good to go with a 0 offset wheel. Yea some of the fitments on custom broffsets gallery crack me up “running 22x12 -60mm with a 35x12.50 1 inch leveling kit no rubbing no trimming” lol.

I’m running 20x9 0 and I still needed a little trim, a slice off the inside of the mud flap and a little felt trim. Was easy to do and the mudflap remains. I had to use a 6mm spacer to clear the brakes, which probably is why I then needed the trim.

I ran a 10" wide wheel with a 8mm spacer and 275/60 on my stock suspension truck, with the mudflap bracket mod I was able to get 0 rubbing.  By simply pulling back the mudflap you shouldn't have to do any cutting

A 275 60 20 is what the custom silverado comes with on stock wheels. 295 60 20 still fits on stock wheels with no rub. So with yours being a GMC I can see no problem fitting the 275s.

Have you saw someone run this 295/60 on stock wheels with no rub? I have a GMC SLT and was going to run this tire size in a nitto RG with a 2 inch RC level

On a gmc I'm sure theres some one here that has done it. Search around a little and you will find it. I seen also 275 65s, they have less width and more heigth.  If it was a chevy then yes I know someone..lol... I have then on mine.

Curious of this also.  Looking to run 295/60/20 atturo with a 2" RC lift. 2019 silverado.

    • Hi friends - first time poster. I have a 2015 sierra Denali with 150k miles, I’m the second owner and she’s given me 75k of great service. I run a pulse AFM disable device. Starting Thursday when I exited the freeway after a short local ride it started idling rough, with an obvious misfire shake and was down on low end power.  I got it home and hooked it up to my scannner and found no codes but in live data a pretty bad misfire on cylinder 5. I replaced the coil, plug and wire with all new OE replacements (Delphi gn10165 coil, acdelco wire and 41-168 plug). It’s still behaving the same way after firing the parts cannon at it.   I know cyl 5 is a non AFM cylinder so I am not thinking this is AFM related but I’m kinda at a loss. injector? Bent pushrod? It’s running too well over 1k rpm to suggest those IMO. Has anyone chase this issue before and what was it? Any suggestions? 
    • 2017 Silverado L83 5.3l 6speed transmission Hello, not a new member but havent posted in a while and my old signup info isnt working so had to create a new account. anyways, I have an issue with my truck and hope someone can spread some light on whats happening: -when it goes to 4cyl mode it makes a clunk sound (but not when coasting or going downhill) -when in 4 cyl mode and under load it makes a load pulsating sound (not a tick). -goes away completely when in M5 gear or when plugging in an AFM delete. Im guessing it is one of 2 things but im not convinced of either to be honest. 1. lifter stuck in v8 mode 2. torque converter shudder realistically it doesn't seem like the TC as there is no physical vibration , and it never happens in v8 mode. but maybe? and wouldnt a lifter make a sound whether with load or not? any ideas let me know please. thank you!  
    • Which has made me wonder with the various engine failures of a few brands in the last few years, is it sub par materials such as lifters etc causing failures, or bearing clearances on the crank etc or perhaps bad designing of an engine physically or causing too much load on the components due to the hp/torque they can push out of them. Or is the oil viscosity and additive package of current oils or a lack of oil flow by an oil pump not able to supply sufficient oil at idle or under high load at low rpm. Or is it every item I listed that combined together has pushed the limits so far to the left that there is hardly a margin of safety left and add in some fuel dilution and too long of an OCI and premature engine failure is the result ?. 
    • He is not saying that an SAE *W20 will have more viscosity than a *W40 due to MORE VII polymers. He is saying that although multiple *W40 may post in the PDS the same or similar 100 C and 150 C viscosities that the blenders choice of modifier TYPE and AMOUNT to get his chosen base to grade will not give identical real world viscosities in shear and at temperature. All will pass the SII test but not all will pass the 100 C HTHS (unpublished value) testing the blender does and relies on to get the required by law "percentage improvement' referenced to his last great work.    Tis the problem with the lie. Once told others are required to support it. 
    • I have a `25, 1500 that auto sets on incline. Never knew that at first. I have the electronic shifter. Just think if it didn`t do that? Unlike a mechanical shift that you can muscle out of park, how would you get this thing out? That would be a problem.   What I found out later is, I don`t have to push the button to release. Just put it in gear.   Setting parameters? Don`t know if it`s possible.
