2017 Running Boards: Double Door vs Crew Cab

Guys, Can anyone help me on this? Will the Cab running boards fit onto a Double door 2017 Silverado? I'm just thinking out load here. The running boards on my 2017 Silverado Double door are 6' long and come to the end of the cab. I was thinking, could I replace my running boards with ones from a Crew Cab ( not sure how long they are but would assume about 7'). The longer ones would extend past the cab area of the double door and allow add'l step length to access the front end of the bed. 

 

Any input on this?

Are mounting points the same. Also they make wheel to wheel steps and even triple steps with step for bed access

This sounds like a clever idea but has the potential to look and/or fit bad, imo.  ^^ Pat's suggestion about considering steps specifically designed for this purpose is the path I'd take.
